LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures takes the fun and creative construction of LEGO and combines it with the wits, daring and non-stop action from the original cinematic adventures that enthralled audiences everywhere (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). With a unique tongue-in-cheek take on the original adventures, LEGO Indiana Jones follows Dr. Jones escapades through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India. Fans can build, battle and brawl their way through their favorite cinematic moments, from Indy's entanglements with snakes to his dashing boulder run.

Of course, pop culture's most iconic archeologist will whip through all the classic moments with the help of a host of supporting characters including Marion Ravenwood and Short Round. Players can also mix and match the body parts of more than 60 playable characters to create new heroes just as they could in the best-selling LEGO Star Wars games.

5 out of 5 stars Who needs sleep!   August 11, 2008
We started playing at 8pm because there was nothing on tv (what a surprise) next thing we knew it was 1am!
Loads of fun, the lego angle is excellent- we love when you blow someone up and they break into lego bricks.
Excellent if you don't want your kids exposed to gratuitous blood and gore, but they want to play a great action game.
Once you've completed the levels in story play, you can go back, using other characters from the films and find other hidden areas and "treasures" not accessable to the basic characters- so the game isn't boring, you just keep going back as other people-or make your own person, choose a spade or a whip, and off you go...
Would definitely recommend-in fact I just bought it for my 12 year old nephews birthday present.(he does actually want it-doesn't like socks and hankies strange boy...lol)
Plus, if you already have this try lego star wars-also a great game, very similar, but with the star wars characters and stories obviously...doh

5 out of 5 stars Excellent fun - cant put it down!   July 28, 2008
I love this game! What I didnt realise when I brought this is that you can have multiplayer so now my boyfriend and I play on it together, battling our way through the levels. Its brilliant fun, even for adults. I can imagine some of the challenges could be a bit difficult for a young child however.

Once you start playing on it an hour can dissapear just like that! Too busy having so much fun to realise how long you have actually been on it.

The little lego characters are great too as is the scenery.

A bit tricky getting used to the controls and even now I still jump instead of fighting but that will hopefully come with time on it. The only reason the controls are slightly tricky to master is that you can move your character in every direction and do so much with them, which is a good thing.

5 out of 5 stars as good as it gets?   July 19, 2008
I am not a video gamer and picked this one up by accident for the Wii platform.....woweeee!
Talk about addictive fun, after a hard days work, this sure as hell gets rid of the gremlins and is thoroughly enjoyable.
Tongue in cheek send up of the original series it may be, but it is also totally consuming and great fun.
There are lovely hidden touches throughout the game and graphics are good, as a clever modern day game based on the classic 3 Indiana Jones films it is a sure winner.

4 out of 5 stars Problems with game freezing   July 12, 2008
Thoroughly enjoyed playing Lego Indy, apart from the game freezing in "Trouble in the Sky". Got no joy with the Activision when I sent them an email with the problem, tried telling me it was my disc then it was my Wii itself causing the problem. My friend has Lego Indy for his Xbox 360, he freezes too in free play mode. It appears that lots of people are having the same problems if you search the internet, although Activision won't accept that there is a general problem with the software. Apart from that what a great game. Completed it in just over a week, very addictive. Cant wait until Lego Batman arrives in September, have pre-ordered my copy!

5 out of 5 stars Just as good as Lego Star Wars - why aren't there more two player games!   June 30, 2008

With a 5 year old son I am still struggling with adulthood and cannot resist the urge to have a play with my Wii on a far too regular basis. Lego Star Wars and now, Lego Indiana Jones, gives me a great excuse to spend quality time with my son and still be a kid with computer games ... fantastic! There are those who scorn children with computer games and yes, it should be limited. HOWEVER my son is now far more dextrous and solves puzzles and loves to read and build lego as a result of our "Wednesday Wii" afternoons.

The gameplay is nice and simple to understand and the team play works so well (there are puzzles where one person has to be in one place and the other player has to pull a lever at the same time in order to progress). Other occasions where we can work well as a team are where one of us can be duffing up the opposition while the other one dashes about gathering coins and discovering spades and secret panels etc.

As with Star Wars lego you can also create your own personalised character which is great and means that, even when you have completed the game in "Story Mode" you are really only half way through and can start from the beginning again and it never really gets boring. I have to confess though, I have searched on-line for a walk-through, y'know - just in case like! The walkthroughs and codes seem to be fairly easy to find (it's already available on wikicheats.com) and the fast build and fast fix codes are quite useful.

I heard a rumour that they may be doing a Lego Batman game too ... bring it on!
