Well, yes, it works... September 26, 2008
...but what a lousy manual. You have to guess how to get the software download for Mac - the included disk is for PCs only. The preferences refinements are not explained, plus the manual itself is anyway too small to see the screen shots in detail. The camera picture is ok, but small, so I can't go overboard about that either.
Ho hum.

This item, by luck or coincidence manages to give a video feed, but to say it is ideal for MAC OS is pushing it. The instructions state that the microphone is not MAC compatible.... so this device is NOT "excellent for MAC OS X" ...... LOOK ELSEWHERE

Delievered as stated received within 2 days
Easy to install just down load the driver from sogatels website (in seconds) installation as quick.
Suitable for my MAC 10.3.9 as installation states needs 10.2 or higher.
Once installed you just have to restart the computer then you get a picture and are ready to go.
Not sure if the webcam is suitable with any other forum as I am only using Skype.
Also it is good to check in preferences you have it set to video calls. I made the mistake of having it set to voice calls and thought the webcam was at fault when it was me.
I really recommed it SUPER BUY!!!

The camera installed easily (you visit the supplier's web site for the driver) and it worked well with Skype - nice clear image and its stand clips easily onto an iMac. Generous length of USB cable too.
But it does not work "out of the box" with iChat or Photo Booth. For iChat (or Photo Booth) the install instructions tell you to go to another web site and BUY an extra piece of software. It's only $5.95 extra but I think it should be included with the product to fulfil its claim "ideal for MAC OS X".
The supplier's web site also said "The microphone on this unit is not compatible with MAC"; not an issue if your Mac has a built-in microphone.
