5 out of 5 stars great fun but make sure you have plenty of batteries   December 26, 2007
ok last year i got a lone rc dalek this year my wife bought me a battle set.it came with a posable cyber leader which looks good on the shelf.
the daleks are even more fun now you can battle against your friends.
they do take a lot of aaa batteries-12 in all but ive got about 40 hours out of last years rc dalek on one lot of batteries.
a good buy my wife got it for under 20 from her catalogue....

4 out of 5 stars Bit overpriced - command attention - and easy to d-e-s-t-r-o-y.   January 26, 2007

I got these in a (high street) January sale for 20. They came with a cyberman, and not a Dok-tooor. I agree with all other reviews about build quality etc. But at 20 for 2, I thought that they were just about worth it - even if they broke down, they would look OK on my work desk. (Oh yeah, I was 12 when the Daleks first invaded earth in the days when TVs showed life in mono. So now I am older than The Dok-tooor.) I've messed around with them for about 10 fighting minutes in the last 2 weeks. All is fine, but they are def big boys' toys - would not last long in the hands of the under-10s. ONE on its own (if one got wrecked) would not be much use, and would say just 1 or 2 phrases - and no flashing lights. They need to have been 'hit' by their opponent to flash. After 5 hits, they scream and die. You need both to be working, facing each other(ish), and fighting, to get flashing ears and most of the sound effects. If having set-up problems - make sure all 12 batteries are in the right directions, and remember to turn on the daleks AND their respective remote hand controls. Worth 20 but not 40, in summary. I like them, but for their appearance rather than playability. The 12-inch version would dominate (no pun intended) any room they were in. So these smaller baby-Ds are fine.

1 out of 5 stars Massive disappointment   August 13, 2006

Bought these for my six year old but sadly the black dalek never worked. Three of his friends were also bought the same toy and not one of them worked! A complete waste of time and a ruined Christmas for four Doctor Who fans.

1 out of 5 stars Nice idea, shame about the build   May 20, 2006

Bought this for my 5 year old's birthday, who is a huge Dr Who fan. We were expecting much fun to be had with his 6 year old brother (also a huge fan). Initially all was great, daleks trundled hither and thither on the lino floor (the only surface they would work on), shooting each other and emitting some great sounds. However, by the next day, the gold dalek wouldn't shoot unless you held the button down so hard you were in danger of pushing it right through the controller; one of the black dalek control levers kept sticking thus sending said dalek permanently to the right. In under a week, "Goldie" had a broken grill, which I had to glue back, the plunger was all floppy and getting the fire button to work at all was a major feat; meanwhile "Blackie" continued to spin in circles despite my best efforts to unstick the controller. And to cap it all I had to change the batteries in both daleks !
This could have been a fantastic toy (it was while it lasted) but for the appalling build quality. Save your money !

A great toy for series one and people aged 8-12 a bit of a disappointment the daleks didn't open when shot as per the original photo, but all in all a great toy HOPE YOU BUY
