 Does what it says on the tin, but oh so slow August 18, 2008
A bog standard internet security suite that so far shows few chinks in its armoury of defences. What I will say, however, is that it slows down the PC it is used on far more than the old version of Norton that it replaced. Maybe this is down to the machine it is on and its fairly low-spec (it is only 3 years old), but its performance has deteriorated considerably since its installation.

This product is very easy to install and set up. I think my computer is running faster and more smoothly as a result. My one gripe would be occasionally that it refuses to update and gives me no reason, but this is probably more a user problem than a software one! All in all I feel much more secure now I am protected by the security suite and I didn't need to be a geek to install it either! Which is a bonus.

Having been using norton I/s since 2005 I got fed up with my xp laptop crashing with the lastest norton I/S 2008.
So I decided time for a change and brought the mcafee I/S 2008.
I downloaded the removal tool from nortons web site and made sure everything had been removed.
Installed the mcafee from the cd supplied no problems at all. did have slight problem getting the product registered but I think that was a web site problem. But contacted web support the responded the next day as it was a weekend but bye then the problem had been fixed.
Have been using for a couple of weeks now with excellent results computer much faster and have gained 2gb memory back having unistalled norton.
Live update runs without even slowing the computer.
Wish I had changed years ago. Never buy norton.
Buy Mcafee a great easy to use and install product with excellent aftersales.

I was a little wary about this at first as I'd heard stories that it wasn't very good, took up a load of PC resources etc.
Hoverer am delighted to report that I'm 100% happy with the software. PC Seems to work faster for some reason too! :-)
The interface is intuitive, the updates are fast and easy to sort out just the once during setup and I'd happily recommend this to anyone looking for Anti Virus software, 10/10
