4 out of 5 stars It's a good game   August 29, 2008
I got this game with my spending money because I was fed up off playing with retired players on Pro evoloution soccer 3 (thats old). I was expecting it 2 be da same but u know what it has a huge difference such as it shows the referee u choose which ball you want to play with and what I wanted da most, it had all da knew players. DA thing which I like
about the game is that the awsome players such as Christiano Ronaldo does tricks on his own when other players come to tackle him. BUt da thing is not all the players look da same as on real football, tores has short hair, Beckham looks toooooooootally different.
Overall buy it!

3 out of 5 stars Not much fun   August 15, 2008
This game is not bad, just not a lot a fun to play. I'm sure it's a very faithful football sim, but only if you've learned eveything you know about football from Chelsea a couple of years ago and the old Arsenal.

I'd advise to stick to Pro-Evo 6 or if you have a Wii, go for Wii Pro-Evo '08. It re-introduces things like fun and a feeling of control to the series.

All in all, solid but dull.

2 out of 5 stars A bit disappointed   July 5, 2008

I'm quite disappointed of this version of Pro Evo, I thought this will have better graphics and game play, but I was totally let down. Pro Evo 8's game play is, more or less, the same as Pro Evo 6. This game is only worth buying if you want updated team members for club, country, etc. That's about it. The graphics hasn't been improved at all.

I'm not too bothered with the new sets of menus and music that everyone is getting annoyed of. I guess the reason why this game is so expensive at the moment is because of the new graphical menus they have introduced to game, rather than improving the the game play and the actual graphics of the game.

1 out of 5 stars PES and PS2 do not mix!   June 19, 2008

I have been a fan of pro evo since PRO EVO 1 and i'm sorry but all those so-called football gamers who praise this game must be either blind or had enough of FIFA. I would much rather play FIFA than this garbage!

There are more international teams and crowd chants are more responsive....but thats about it!

The overall interface of the game is exactly the same as PES 5 and 6, they could have designed it a bit differently rather than just changing the colour to a dull blue.

The menu music is incredibly ANNOYING that i have decided to mute the sound on my tv. What is the point in changing the music when there are more important aspects to ammend such as i dunno....THE WHOLE GAME!

Referees are 100% biased towards the COM. Passing and movement of the ball is shockingly slow. This game has NO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE and if i knew this before i paid 30 quid of my hard earned money then i wouldn't have even gave it a second look!

KONAMI NEED TO WAKE UP AND FAST!

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing Rehash   June 18, 2008

Upgrading from PES5, i expected some significant gameplay developments, better graphics, interface and music.

No.

Same music. same interface.
Worse graphics in game menus and no improvement in the game itself, either players, backgrounds or close-ups.

Even more annoyingly, the player names are old in CAPS. Why?

The gameplay has some minor improvements, and the Computer actually gets booked occasionally now, but it's still full of minor niggles and frustrations.

If i hadn't paid money for this, i'd have given up and gone back to PES5.
I still prefer it to FIFA, but it's no significant improvement on ISS, let alone PES5 &6.

My advice is: "Only buy this title if you do not own any PES titles."
