5 out of 5 stars Extremely good   April 27, 2008

I'm very impressed with Wii Fit - not only is the concept brilliant, but the execution is near-flawless. I've thoroughly enjoyed the jogging so far (island lap isn't as long as I had hoped though) and lots of other stuff too.

Only minor snag, is that if you want to play as a group (and take turns on different games) you have to keep returning to the plaza and going through the menus etc. But it's definitely worth buying + playing regardless (and presumably it was designed to be played separately rather than as a group)

Overall, I love it (although I've managed to hurt my leg jogging on the spot, but that's not the game's fault)

I am a 45 year old woman who likes to go to the gym but can't find the time and I get bored very easily with the monotony of exercise. With this fantastic piece of kit I can exercise whenever I choose and do whatever I feel like doing wether it be yoga, aerobics, balance exercises or even skiing. I think it is terrific value and fun for all the family although I don't actually think my children will get much of a look in!
If you can get hold of one buy it and watch those pounds drop off- I feel fitter after just two days!!

5 out of 5 stars Wii Fit = SO Much Fun   April 26, 2008

Just got my wii fit package today and im really impressed with it.

the wii balance board is a really strong sturdy piece of kit and works perfect once you have connected it to the wii machine. All the games i have tried so far are excellent and i love the jogging excercise, it makes it so much fun to be jogging round and having the mii's stored on your console join you - something you cant get from a normall running machine.

Really impressed with the whole package and i think nintendo have done a brilliant job here, i can see why the games will burn up those extra pounds - its a great way to have fun and excercise and get off the sofa!

4 out of 5 stars Only a couple of negatives - but they are persistant ones...   April 26, 2008

I think the wii fitness is a great thing! I certainly expect it to help me become more fit and health aware... i would advise anyone who wants to get a little more fit to buy it!

I played it yesterday, i did it today and even broke a sweat! It is like having your own personal trainer.

With the muscle workouts, the trainer corrects you and makes comments all based on your balance "don't hold your breath!" "don't stick your bum out!" etc etc Its amazing how she knows lol

That said, there are some nagging things about how it works that have effected my whole experience:
- The games are too short and repetitive.
- You need to keep clicking the controller and standing on the board even if it isn't required for the next task.
- You can't program a routine that includes multiple activities, ie, 10 push ups followed by 20 lunges and then some yoga positions... you have to pause and load inbetween.
- You can't compare your progress to Wii friends or even with random people, which i feel would be a great motivation "If she can lose 10 lbs! So can i dammit!", etc. Just with poeple in your house (who aren't as keen).
- Some of the games are exploitable.

Thats a lot of things i guess - it is still a great piece of kit and well worth the money!

The idea is a brilliant one. It's fun, it's healthy, the Wii balance board is perfectly tuned and all the games I've played on it up to now have been great. Get a copy ASAP.
