5 out of 5 stars Wii Fit   August 16, 2008
5 out of 5 found this review helpful

If you are thinking of getting a wii fit but are having problems getting hold of one because they are sold out try ordering one from Amazon international- I order one from Amazon Germany and it only took 5 days to arrive.

Now to the Wii fit:There is a health bias to the wii fit based on bmi and weight which because young kids will play it could be a bit more sensitive. My kids are at an ideal weight and are slim but other children might get upset by the graphs and body test that you take every day. That aside the Wii fit has a great yoga option which is really testing and I would never actually go to a class but actually enjoy it. Then there are the balance games which are really fun snowboarding which really recreates the feel of boarding through the snow- ski slalom- heading a football back and ski jump. Then there are the aerobic games jogging in the park and a great step game.

Overall there a lot more options and games and the wii fit is definitely worth the money takes the nintendo wii to the next level.

5 out of 5 stars fantastic   August 15, 2008

I bought the nintendo wii only a few days ago, i have to say i'm absoultly hooked to it.
One thing i will say is, the activity's are fantastic i.e. penguin slide and the tight rope walking (which needs practice to perfect). Other ones I really enjoyed were jogging and stepups.......... easy peasy! (but still make you sweat)
To gain more levels you have to train and work hard at tasks, this gains you entry into harder activity's. A definate must buy!

1 out of 5 stars Basically Wii sports with some scales, for 90 sheets. WASTE OF MONEY   August 9, 2008

An unsavoury affront to all the great manly things that gaming has always proudly stood-sat down-for. Aerobics? Muscle conditioning? BMI? If you're tempted to "give it a try" ask yourself this- where will it end? Soya milk? a gender change? Free range wheatgrass and vegan salads? Get a grip, sit your hairy man-butt down and kill some more pretend terrrists.

5 out of 5 stars Well worth getting - a total family hit   August 9, 2008

The Wii Fit is absolutely brilliant for the whole family - we actually cry with laughter at our efforts to perform the tasks it takes us through. Especially some of the hilarious balance games - notably the penguin slide which is a personal favourite of mine too for its glorious silliness!
Hula hoop competitions are a level playing field for us with even the youngest being able to 'win' for a change. A feature not often mentioned and that I am very pleased with is 'free step' in the aerobic section. You can set your Mii up to step for a defined amount of time of your choice and the rhythym is marked by means of sound from the Wiimote. You can then switch to a DVD or a TV channel and continue your stepping exercise to the sound of the beat for as long as you like. It does raise your heart rate, get you warm and allow you a gentle exercise session in your living room. No, not quite a full on gym experience but terrific for those wanting some gentle regular and non boring exercise.
Wish Nintendo would sort their distribution problems out as this crazy shortage seems contrived and desperately unfair - those profiteering should be ashamed. If you can get one without paying over the odds though, I heartily recommend it! 5 stars from the whole family (aged from 41 down to 3)!
