4 out of 5 stars Relax & unwind   August 11, 2008
This game is difficult to describe as a game, I see it more as a virtual aquarium and after a stressful day its great to just "dive into the water and lose yourself in the underwater world" for a while. The tasks you are given and the tours you take people on give the game a good structure and stop it from getting mundane, the music is relaxing but it's also great that you can load your memory card with mp3's of your own choice.

2 out of 5 stars Boring and uncaptivating   August 7, 2008

I am 32 year old, into first person shooters, wii sports, racers etc etc.

I bought this based purely on the rave reviews it recieved here and after playing for a couple of hours I was astoundingly bored of swimming around looking at fish with this naff notebook, and felt I was wasting my time. Also, there's the cheesy dialogue with the boat character which has to be suffered. The game itself is very pretty, no doubt, but really feels very unrewarding and I finished playing with absolutely no desire to ever play again.

I kept it for a further two weeks thinking maybe curiosity would get me back in the water, but to no avail. It had to be sold. I'm sure I haven't explored the depths of this game, but for me, a game has to draw you in, and if I can't be bothered after two hours play, its hard to justify investing more time in it.

If you like "relaxing" games maybe this is for you, but I play for excitement, and if I want to relax I can listen to music, read a book or lounge around without pretending to be a diver.

Just a warning to those who may see the amazing reviews, it won't be everyone's cup of tea.

2 out of 5 stars Not for me.   August 1, 2008

I am surprised this game gets so many good reviews. I can see an appeal for certain people but to be honest (as some others have said) it is boring. I'm glad i didnt actually buy the game as i think i personally would be disappointed. The graphics are quite nice but not stunning and the controls take a bit of getting used to - i just felt i was waving the Wii remote around all the time - not sure i'd want to do it for a long time as my arm would ache!. I only played for a few mins so maybe i didnt give it chance but i just found it dull. It says you can interact with the sealife but that seemed limited to prodding them and releasing food. I'm not sure what i expected and it seems most people are not calling it a 'game'.

Well you might like it if you are interesting in diving and such like but it just didnt hold the interest for me.

1 out of 5 stars You must be fairly stressed to want to play this   August 1, 2008
I really didnt like this game it was too boring, not saying the graphics are bad as they were mega, but it didnt do for me as I like a bit of action, probably suit somebody who is very stressed who wants to relax, and ofcourse the younger generation, but not a game for me.

5 out of 5 stars Fintastic!   July 20, 2008
I never write reviews on games.Until now...
What can I say? When I first popped this into my Wii I was thinking along the lines of the old Spectrum game Scuba Dive - boy was I wrong!
This 'game' is out of this world. I hesitate to use the word 'game' as this is more of an experience than a game, although the storyline is interesting and the missions keep you going.
The graphics and sounds are exceptionally well done , giving you the feeling of really being under the sea. Grabbing hold of a Whale Shark and letting it pull you along is just mad! I cannot begin to describe how impressed I was by this - even though I am more used to mmorpgs and strategy games - this is so totally different, and as others have said, quite relaxing.
This is a landmark program and should be given away free with every Wii sold in my opinion.

Only gave it 5 stars as 10 was not an option.......
