3 out of 5 stars Fun for the family   October 6, 2008
As several people have already stated, this game is fun in a multi player race. If you play it by yourself you will get so angry you are liable to throw the wheel at your tv screen. The flying shells that blow you up right before the finish live, getting knocked off track from behind, actions like these get old really quickly, espeically when you are trying to unlock new courses. Overall, alot of fun to play with your partner or the kids, just don't play it alone!

5 out of 5 stars Flawed but the best Mario Kart so far   September 14, 2008

As many have said, great game but the random nature of the 150cc races is really demoralising. Then again it does add to the lifespan because it is a lot harder to get gold on all the cups than in previous games. Hopefully with the next game they'll get rid of the blue shells and all the bloody lightning strikes that happen every single race. Great game though.

Well finally it's here! Mario Kart Wii! Is fun for everybody and there is a Wi-Fi connection so you can play with friends or against the world! Even though I'm Dianes' son she still thinks its' great aswell! Now buy the game, and happy racing!

5 out of 5 stars Great fun   September 11, 2008
As a general summary of many of these extensive reviews, Mario Kart is a fun game for anyone of any age! Fairly easy to get through each track and win trophies, was just as do-able by 9 year old cousin, though not to same level of expertise! The online gameplay continues the fun when you've mastered all of the tracks yourself too.

Great game to play alone or with friends and family, some tracks from the old consoles too which are fun to see!

Definitely worthwhile to buy! My best game along with Wii sports!

5 out of 5 stars Wii are Having Fun Racing!   August 25, 2008

After playing this game on my friend's Wii, I went out and bought a Wii and this game. That's how much I enjoyed it.

I have the original Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo. The basic game play is pretty much the same. You are controlling one of the characters from the Mario universe as you attempt to race around tracks and win. Along the way, you can pick up power ups to help you or hinder your opponents. Of course, that means they can attack you as well, so watch out.

With this incarnation, you've got 32 courses to play. You start out with half of them available and earn the other half as you win races. They include fun new courses created for this version as well as the best of the courses from the older incarnations of this game.

This game can be played by one person or up to four people, each needing their own controllers. Naturally, with four players, the screen becomes smaller, so you'd want to have a larger TV.

You can also play this game over the internet. I've raced against friends across town who also have it. Or, if none of them are on line, you can race against strangers. The game will set up matches from your region or around the world.

But what really makes this game amazing in the remote. Each copy comes with one steering wheel. That's right. Just put your regular remote in the wheel and suddenly you can steer your car. I still haven't figured out quite how they set the receiver to do that. You don't need to use the wheel, however. You can just use your remote, although it isn't nearly as much fun. Heck, you can even use your nunchuck controller if you'd like.

The graphics are quite uneven on this game. The newer levels look pretty good, but the older ones are done in the same, cheesy style. Admittedly the entire thing is rather cartoonish. But it really don't dampen my enjoyment in the slightest.

Overall, this is a fun game that I know I will be playing for a long time to come.
