Good if you've never tried DHTML before November 17, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you've ever done DHTML then perhaps you should try onother book. However, if this is your first time, then I really don't think you would find an easier book than this to start you off. I'm not sure about the capital, italic layout, it really cuts down on the white space and you may find yourself getting confused and even losing your place. That said, the brief introduction to DOM, JavaScript etc is quite basic and ideal for the absolute beginner.
Heard of DHTML but not sure what it is, try this book then November 9, 2002 If you've covered DHTML, no matter how briefly, then perhaps this is not the book for you. However, if you want a well explained, simple and basic introduction to DHTML, this book will be a good starting point. I'm not sure about the actual coding - I found the bold italics a bit off putting (it seems to cut down on the 'white space' and I found myself reading the code 2 or 3 times), but I thought the use of the final product displayed in screen dumps of browser etc quite refreshing and it made the text even easier to understand. Theres a good reference to websites in the appendix, and in general I think anyone who buys the book will end up having a brief understand of all the topics that the book covers.
This book is great!!! March 28, 2001 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is great, it really helps you to lean and understand about layers and DOM (Document Object Model). I recommend this book to anyone who wants to advance themself and webpages.
