Terrible June 11, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Comes with the wrong connections so I couldn't even plug it in. It uses an aerial plug (obviously) yet the USB stick has an earphone jack socket!?! That meant it was a complete non-starter. Not to mention the drivers wouldn't install anyway so even if it was packaged correctly it still probably wouldn't have worked. Bought it, unpacked it, binned it. Find something else and save yourself some time and money...

With roof aerial it works fine and the quality of the image is very good. Also the software seems good and simple to use. The aerial included in the package is not enough for receiving any signal. This DVB-T should also be suitable for Linux users because is based on Afatech AF9005 hardware (as can be seen by the name of the drivers) and should be fully supported (I still have to try, I'm using it on Vista). As noticed by others, the connection between the cable and the stick doesn't seem very robust. I think that for this price is difficult to do a better purchase.
cheap for a reason. rubbish build quality June 9, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received my first usb stick only to find that when i had set it up, it wouldn't find any channels. I could get it to find a few if i physically pushed the aerial into the stick, but as soon as i let go the signal would go. I already have other freeview boxes that work fine in my house so i sent it back and got a replacement. The new stick worked well for a few days and then started to develop the same problem. The problem lies in how you connect your aerial to the device. I use my rooftop aerial, but to plug this in i have to use the supplied adapter that turns it into a headphone jack which then slots into the headphone socket in the stick. The headphone socket is very loose and flimsy and after a few days i had to constantly fiddle around with it and get it in exactly the right place so that i could get signal. Now it doesn't work at all. I have to say that it just seems like pot luck if you get a stick that works or not, due to shoddy build quality, and i can't see any of these sticks working for a long time. The seller is giving me a full refund and i have now bought a more expensive pinnacle stick which works really well and feels much more robust. You do get what you pay for.
Media Centre June 6, 2008 Hopefully this will be of help to someone. It was not clear to me if these things worked with Media Centre. Given that the price was so low, I thought it worth a punt and am happy to say that the two I bought work perfectly with Windows Media Centre 2005. I replaced my other, much more expensive, cards and I can honestly say that the performance has been x100 better. Very pleased!
Stunning Freeview Receiver May 21, 2008 At the low price this item is offered at - I thought (no problem if it doesn't work OK) I couldn't believe how many Freeview channels I was able to get with brilliant pictures. But please note mine and other peoples comments about the ariel. It really depends how close you are to a Transmitter, like others I was not able to use the supplied ariel but linked to my rooftop ariel the pictures are superb.
