PowerTraveller speakers September 21, 2008 I bought these speakers just over a week ago from the powertraveller website (sorry amazon i didnt actually know you sold them!) and i must say they are brilliant! the sound quality is quite amazing for a speaker the size of a glasses case with no disortion whatsoever at higher volumes! They are also very light and i have not had to replace the 4 AA batteries (which are included) as of yet, however the unit does come with a USB adapter to power it if you ever find yourself with dead batteries! I cant wait to take them away with me on holiday!
HIGHLY recommended - for build, size and sound quality September 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these speakers after a recommendation from a friend, and have not been disappointed. Compact, well-built and offering incredible sound quality for their size, they are outstanding.
The battery life is good but the USB power cable usefully provides a longer term power source. However, I agree with the other reviewer who commented that the case doesn't offer much protection. Take care when travelling with them. That said, mine have been all over the world with me, and still deliver superbly.
And on the subject of battery life: to the other reviewers who commented (or complained) about the sound cutting out after a few weeks or months, my first set did the same. I also thought they were faulty, until I changed the batteries; at which point they were back to their usual peak performance.
By the way, if you're considering these or the 'Kensington FX300' speaker, go for the Powertraveller. I own both, and the sound quality is incomparable.
Excellent value for money July 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The sound and volume from this small speaker is excellent considering the compact size. Perfect for using on holiday or in the garden. Only points to note are the carry pouch wouldnt protect the woofers if something pressed against them and the on/off switch is a little flimsy. I'll probably cut a bit of stiff card to slide in the pouch to protect the woofers when they're in a bag or suitcase.
Does what is says it does June 16, 2008 I really enjoy these speakers. I use them with my Archos 705 and I am delighted with their performance. My only gripe would be that there is no where to stored the cables. The felt pouch could do with a stuff pocket on the front for them. Mentioning the cables, I use the USB power cable to charge my Archos from the laptop because the power end fits the power inlet perfectly.
Dont expect them to have the power of larger systems - but as a unit, which I take away with me to hotels whenever I am travelling they are perfect.
